Snyder earns scholarship from Shepherdstown Rotary
The Shepherdstown Rotary Club has awarded a $700 scholarship to Kaitlyn Snyder, a Shepherd University freshman.
Snyder won the award by submitting the best essay in the club’s annual “Service Above Self” essay competition. The competition is open to all members of the University’s Rotaract Club, which is a Rotary-sponsored campus service organization.
The award was presented at the Rotary Club’s regular May 24 meeting at the Bavarian Inn.
Snyder, who is from Bunker Hill, is a graduate of Musselman High School. At Musselman, she was a member of Interact, another Rotary-sponsored service organization for high school students, and won a coveted Rotary Youth Leadership Award. Snyder is majoring in Biology at Shepherd. She will begin her sophomore year in the fall.
