Free tutoring available

By Staff | Dec 30, 2011

Jefferson County Schools will host Free Tutoring and Academic Support for all students in grades 8 through 12 starting Jan. 4, 2012. The free tutoring will take place Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-8 p.m. at the Opportunity Learning Center located at 306 S. Lawrence St., Charles Town, across the street from Wright Denny Elementary School’s playground.

The Opportunity Learning Center turns into the Community Resource Center on Monday and Wednesday evenings open to all students in grades 8-12 desiring tutoring and academic support.

The additional benefit of this free tutoring opportunity is that students do not have to pre-register, they can go to the Community Resource Center and stay two minutes or two hours, depending on the students’ need. Students are asked to bring their study materials to the center.

The Resource Center will operate on Jefferson County Schools cancellation schedule (i.e. if school is closed for the day, there will be no resource center hours that evening).
