Shepherdstown Opera House sets schedule
Tara Mills and Chloe Edmonstone featuring Ben Townsend of The Fox Hunt will perform Jan. 20 at the Shepherdstown Opera House. The concert will begin at 9 p.m. with an admission price of only $5.
Later in the week, Dan Paisley and Southern Grass will be on the stage. Friday, Jan. 27 at 9 p.m., doors will open for this show with a ticket price of $15.
Coming up on Feb. 3 at 9 p.m., Larry Keel and Natural Bridge with The Boatmen will arrive in Shepherdstown. Tickets are on sale now at for $15. Feb. 10 has Golden Butter Band with Kween on the stage at 9 p.m. with an admission price of $5.
Plan ahead for February’s 85th birthday celebration for Ralph Stanley when he and his Clinch Mountain Boys with The Hillbilly Gypsies will play at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25. Tickets are on sale now for this fabulous event at a $35 price tag. Cost goes up to $40 when purchased at the door.
In addition to music, the Opera House proudly offers “Cendrillon.” For the first time ever, The Royal Opera presents the story of Cinderlla as told in Massenet’s opera. Sung in French with English subtitles, the show runs two hours and 50 minutes including one intermission. Admission is $15. Show times are 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24 and 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24.
“Il trittico,” the Royal Opera’s first complete presentation of Puccini’s Il trittico since 1965 will be offered Sunday, Feb. 12 at 2 p.m. and again Tuesday, Feb. 14 at 6 p.m. Leading director Richard Jones staged his witty, darkly comic realization of Gianni Schicchi for The Royal Opera in 2007, and here he completes the trio. Show time is three hours and 45 minutes including two intermissions. Admission is $15.
The feature film of Wall-E will be shown on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 12 noon.
General admission on feature films is $9.50 for adults and $8 for seniors and students. Kids Club offers free admission.
