Free tutoring now available

By Staff | Feb 3, 2012

Jefferson County Schools will be the host of Free Tutoring and Academic Support for all students in grades 8 -12 starting January 4, 2012. The free tutoring will take place Mondays and Wednesdays, 6-8 p.m. at the Opportunity Learning Center located across the street from Wright Denny Elementary School’s playground.

The Opportunity Learning Center turns into the Community Resource Center on Monday and Wednesday evenings open to all students in grades 8-12 desiring tutoring and academic support in any subject. Students will have access to computers, printing, Internet research, tutoring (any subject) and certified teachers.

The additional benefits of this free tutoring opportunity is that students do not have to pre-register, they can go to the Community Resource Center and stay two minutes or two hours, depending on the students’ need. Students are asked to bring their study materials to the center.

The Community Resource Center is located at 306 South Lawrence Street in Charles Town The Resource Center will operate on Jefferson County Schools cancellation schedule (i.e. no school means no community resource center for that day).
