Tortelli seeking magistrate seat

By Staff | Feb 3, 2012

Wendy Torelli is announcing her candidacy for Jefferson County Magistrate. Tortelli is a wife and mother of four, and a resident of Jefferson County for the past eight years.

She believes that her career choices have prepared her for this opportunity. Tortelli enrolled in the United States Navy where she learned some of life’s most important lessons: honor, commitment, a high level of respect and perseverance. She completed her enlistment and left the Navy with an honorable discharge. She recently retired from the Frederick County Sheriff Office after 16 years of service. During her time as an officer, Tortelli served as Frederick County’s Home Detention Supervisor and a Correctional Housing Unit Supervisor.

Some of the defining attributes of her character include being a woman of integrity, good judge of character, being fair and impartial and maintaining order. She is ready to serve the public as a magistrate with the same level of commitment, honor and fairness that she served with in the United States Navy and law enforcement.
