Capital trip planned
Another successful year is underway as several organizations jump on board the Jefferson County Day bus heading for a trip to Charleston, at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 19, to meet with legislators and continue to development a responsive relationship between the State of West Virginia and Jefferson County.
The agenda starts in Charleston with a Sunday evening reception at the Governor’s Mansion, followed by a mixer at the Marriott’s Whitewater Bar & Grille. Early Monday morning there is a free breakfast buffet, and then a move to the Capitol building.
Organizations will display and represent Jefferson County in the Capitol Building on both the House and Senate sides of the Rotunda. Lunch will be followed by going into a Legislative Session in both Houses, to receive Resolutions recognizing Jefferson County Day and Shepherdstown 250. Attendees wrap up the day by meeting with legislators and attending legislative committee meetings.
