School honors 100 days

On Jan. 31 the students in Mrs. Austin, Mr. Emswiler, and Ms. Jonczak’s second-grade classrooms at Shepherdstown Elementary School celebrated the 100th day of school. Several books were read and activities were conducted to honor this special day, including a writing exercise that had students explain why they love Shepherdstown. Their list is included to share in a simple way what makes Shepherdstown a joy to the youth.
The list offers more than 100 reasons Shepherdstown is pleasing to these second graders. Each student provided two reasons why they love it here and why they love Shepherdstown Elementary.
Brandon Games: I love Shepherdstown because it is a nice place. Shepherdstown is where I meet the best teachers.
Abby Hayes: I love Shepherdstown because it is the best town in the world. I love Shepherdstown because it has the best friends and family.
Devin Jackson: I love Shepherdstown because my family and friends are here. The teachers in Shepherdstown are nice.
Bradley Prutzman: I love Shepherdstown because my friends are there. Shepherdstown has the best teachers.
Anastasia Douglas: I love Shepherdstown because it has everything I need. My school also has everything I need.
Ivy Jenkins: I love Shepherdstown because it is fun to have the coolest teacher who makes us learn. My mom works at the Middle School.
Maggie Rolfe: I like Shepherdstown because sometimes I see my friend, Isabella, around. I like going to the bakery.
Morgan Wilson: I love Shepherdstown because it’s the place where I learn. I love Shepherdstown because I live in Shepherdstown.
Aspen Keyes: I love Shepherdstown because my school is there. Morgan’s Grove Park is in Shepherdstown.
Jade Plaza: I love the Sweet Shop. The parades in Shepherdstown are very cool because I’m in them.
Zoe Bailey: I love Shepherdstown because my dad’s a boss there. I love Shepherd because my brother’s the King there.
Tori Waybright: I love Shepherdstown because it is where I live. I have an awesome teacher here.
Taylor Sutherland: I love Shepherdstown because my BFFs live in Shepherdstown. I love Shepherdstown because my school is in Shepherdstown.
Savannah Hess: I love Shepherdstown because it has sidewalks so I can ride my bike. I love Shepherdstown because I can walk to school.
Trinity Grove: I love Shepherdstown because I love my teacher, Mrs. Austin. I love Shepherdstown because I love my friends that are there.
Isabella Tuzzion: I love Shepherdstown because it is where I met my best friend, Maggie. Shepherdstown is where my Popop was buried.
Jessica Fuss: I love Shepherdstown because I grew up in it. I love Shepherdstown because it’s where my teacher is, my BFF, and my other friends.
Marina Graham: I love Shepherdstown because my Marmar lives in Shepherdstown. I love Shepherdstown because my friends are there.
Trevor Jenkins: I love Shepherdstown because it has the best teachers. My best friends are at Shepherdstown.
Alex Griffith: I like Shepherdstown because my family is there. My family is in Shepherdstown.
Zachary Boyd: I like Shepherdstown because I like the school. I have a lot of friends here.
Olivia Asam: I got baptized in Shepherdstown. My school is here.
Oscar Keel: I like my class here. I like the school.
Aurora Stone: I like Shepherdstown because my parents are here. Everyone is nice here.
Jillian Williams: I love Shepherdstown because the bakery has good treats. The school has nice teachers.
Bryce Everline: I like the name of the school. The pastry shop is here.
Aaron Poindexter: I like Shepherdstown because it has a very nice environment. There are nice restaurants here.
Collin Guedel: I like Shepherdstown because I play basketball here. I like Shepherdstown because I live here.
Kailee Everly: I learn a lot at Shepherdstown Elementary School. I like my class here.
Vincent Bocchetti: I love the school in Shepherdstown. I love the teachers here.
Edward Griffith: I like seeing the Christmas parade here. I get my hair cut in town.
Avery Cadle-Adams: I love Shepherdstown because my first time playing soccer was here.My friends are here.
Wyatt Hagerty: The bakery has good treats. The librarian here is nice and helps me find books.
Emma Rudy: I love Shepherdstown because I love the dentist here. It has a nice library.
Jessica Wolfe: I like Shepherdstown because my home is here. I like Shepherdstown because I have everything I need here.
Mason Hall: My grandparents live here. The people are nice in Shepherdstown.
Ben Kessler: My dad works here. There are lots of food markets.
Justine Arnold: I love Shepherdstown because the fire hall is an awesome place to have a party. Jenny lives here, and we play beach ball.
Ashton McInvale: I love Shepherdstown because I live near my dad. I like my neighbors.
Raygan Weller: I have a best friend named Megan Boyd that lives in Shepherdstown. The teachers in Shepherdstown are nice.
Alexis Seal: I love Shepherdstown because of the library. I love the view here.
Sophia Delgaudio: I love living in such a perfect town with great people. There are cool places here.
Paige Bennetts: I love Shepherdstown because the 2nd grade teachers are nice here. My class here is nice.
Chloe Wallace: I love Shepherdstown because I go to a good school here. I get great things at Mrs. Judy’s store.
Joey Slaughter: We can play basketball in Shepherdstown. The teachers are nice here.
Lydia Reilly: I like Shepherdstown because it has a Food Lion. I like to go to the stores.
Morgan Canby: I love Shepherdstown because there are a lot of cool places. I love the Sweet Shop.
Christain Florence: I love Shepherdstown because I made new friends. I love my new school.
Kyle deNobel: I like Shepherdstown because of the bakery. The bakery has big donuts.
Sam Wabnitz: I love Shepherdstown because the Ram’s play there. I met my best friend here.

Riley Staub: I like Shepherdstown because our neighborhood is good. The school is great. There are no bad people there.
And there are the many reasons that the youth of Shepherdstown see their home as the one of the best on earth.
