Johnny August Causer, 49, of Shepherdstown, died Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, in City Hospital, Martinsburg.

He was born July 10, 1962, in Germany, the son of Frederick and Monika Oettinger Causer.

He was married to Theresa Marie Causer.

Mr. Causer was a self-employed contractor.

He was a Boy Scout leader for many years and had served in the U.S. Army.

Surviving are his wife, Theresa, of Shepherdstown; his father, Frederick Causer, of Alverton, Pa.; his mother, Monika Oettinger Johann and her husband, Jeff, of Hedgesville; his stepfather, Robert Buracker, of Lansdale, Pa.; a son, Brendan L. Causer; a daughter, Crystal L. Causer; grandchildren, Colton, Ariana, Destiny and Annabeth; brothers, Jimmie Causer, of Hinesville, Ga., and Mark Buracker, of Tennessee; and an aunt, Gertraude Guillory, of Avon Park, Fla.

A brother, Danny F. Causer; his maternal grandparents, August and Marga Oettinger; and an uncle, Clifton Guillory, are all deceased.

A celebration of life will be at a later date.
