Harpers Ferry fees to rise

By Staff | Mar 2, 2012

Harpers Ferry National Historical Park Superintendent Rebecca Harriett announced an increase in the park entrance fee effective April 1. The new entrance fees will be $10 per single, private, non-commercial vehicle and occupants; and $5 per individual (pedestrians, bicyclists, etc.) The price of the Harpers Ferry Annual Park Pass will increase from $25 to $30 for a one year pass. Entrance fees have not increased since 2004. Congress established the fee program at Harpers Ferry National Historical Park in February of 1987. Interagency Annual, Senior, Access, Golden Age and Golden Access Passes will continue to be accepted for entrance.

Today, 100 percent of the money collected at Harpers Ferry stays in the park to assist with repairing, restoring, stabilizing and maintaining a wide variety of cultural resources to support operational needs necessary to protect park resources and provide for public enjoyment. The 2012 increase will directly support the park’s transportation system.
