Choral music event planned

By Staff | Mar 30, 2012

The Shepherdstown Ministerial Association will sponsor a choral concert as part of Shepherdstown’s 250 celebration. Scheduled for Sunday Sept. 23, the performance will commemorate the role that Shepherdstown and its citizens played in the aftermath of the Battle of Antietam.

Participation in the choir, directed by Shepherd University professor Dr. Georgiann Toole, is open to all singers of high school age and older. Some choral experience is recommended. Music will include works by Haydn, Copland, Ives, and contemporary American composers.

An introductory meeting for all singers will be held on Sunday, Apr. 29 at 2 p.m. at the Shepherdstown Presbyterian Church. Rehearsals will take place primarily on Sunday afternoons in August/September. Interested singers should email SingInAWE @aol.com, or call 301-432-6964.
