Nominations for Women of Distinction sought
Girl Scouts is now accepting nominations for the 201 Women of Distinction. This prestigious honor recognizes women from the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia (Berkeley, Jefferson and Morgan counties) whose outstanding work distinguishes them as excellent leaders and role models for girls.
“The Women of Distinction program links today’s successful women with tomorrow’s future leaders-Girl Scouts. As we spotlight the professional and civic accomplishments of our honorees, we inspire our girls to achieve their own goals and dreams,” said Lorrie Caudle, Regional Director of the Girl Scout Council of the Nation’s Capital. “Girl Scouts is pleased to continue this proud tradition of honoring women in the Eastern Panhandle.”
Nomination applications can be found at www.gscnc.org or by calling the Girl Scout office at 304-263-8833. The deadline to submit nominations is May 11. The Girl Scouts have a long-standing tradition of honoring outstanding women leaders from the Eastern Panhandle. Since 2005, Women of Distinction has recognized 25 exceptional women from all walks of life who represent positive role models for girls. Community, business and government leaders will pay tribute to the Women of Distinction honorees on Wednesday, Sept. 26, at a special luncheon at the Holiday Inn in Martinsburg.
