The Kiwanis Club of Shepherdstown recently made several donations. Above left, the club made a monetary donation as well as diapers and baby wipes to the Care Pregnancy Center of the Eastern Panhandle. The mission of Kiwanis International is “serving the children of the world”. This projects directly affects local children and their families. In the photo to the left, Calvin Whittington, club president, presents a check to Carolyn Willis of the Center. Above right, The Kiwanis Club of Shepherdstown recently recognized two of its longtime members by making a $1000 donation to the Kiwanis International Foundation in their names. Sarah Walker and John Walker (deceased) were awarded the Hixson Fellowship in honor of their dedication to the children of the world. The Foundation is supporting the efforts of Kiwanis International and UNICEF to eliminate Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus worldwide.
