Lillian Lloyd

Lillian Virginia Lloyd, 88, of Bakerton, departed this life on Saturday, May 5, 2012, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.

Born on Dec. 19, 1923, in Dargan, Md., she was the daughter of the late Albert Leo and Daisy Drenner Jamison.

She was a member of the Bakerton Church of God.

Lillian was a woman who loved the Lord and took great joy in serving others. She was deeply committed to her family and friends, and loved gatherings around the kitchen table. Lillian’s favorite moments included relaxing on her front porch in her swing, going to yard sales each Saturday morning and preparing meals and treats for family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Lewis “Butch” Lloyd, of Bakerton; one granddaughter, Michelle Palmer and husband, Joe, of Shepherdstown; one grandson, Lewis “Owen” Lloyd and wife, Cara, of Harpers Ferry; four great-grandchildren, Izabelle and Lewis “Orion” Lloyd, and Ashley and Faith Palmer; two sisters, Dorothy “Dot” Miller and Delores Manuel; two brothers, Donald and Ray Jamison; sister-in-law, Eleanor Jamison; former daughter-in-law, Ruth Lloyd; and other loving in-laws and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lewis, in 1987; one grandson, Lewis Odell Lloyd; two sisters, Louise Talley and Reva Furr; and four brothers, Leo, Granville, Gerald and Wayne Jamison.

Services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at the Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, with the Rev. Van Marsceau officiating. Interment was in Pleasant View Memory Gardens at Martinsburg.
