Goose Route holds contest

By Staff | May 24, 2012

Goose Route Arts Collaborative, the Shepherdstown-based non-profit organization known for bringing dance outside, is holding a contest to identify a great site for its Fall 2012 “Off Stage/On Site” performance. The site should be a place at which to make and perform an original work of dance theater. The deadline for entries is June 1, 2012. All entries must be submitted via email to goose.route.arts@gmail.com.

Criteria for entries include the following: The proposed site must be in Washington or Frederick County, Md.; must be accessible to the public (either publicly-owned or a private site that would allow public access for the performance); can be indoors, outdoors or both; might be interesting for historic, cultural, architectural, landscape significance or any other reason explained.

Entrants should provide the following with their submission: Name and address of location, contact information of someone at the site, if known, reason why this is a compelling site for a performance (no longer than one page), and contact information (name, email address, and phone number) of the individual submitting entry.

The winner will receive the last “I Flew the Goose Route” t-shirt, a true collector’s item, as well as two tickets to a 2012-13 GRAC performance and credit in the written program.

For more information, call 301-693-5303, email goose.route.arts@gmail.com, or via Facebook.
