Souper Tuesday offers wild edibles

By Staff | May 24, 2012

The May 22 SouperTuesday dinner welcomes Kristen Dorsey, fresh off her popular Wild Edibles weekend. Dorsey will speak about native wild edibles in the area. Dr. Alyssa Harris and Chef Gallery embarked on a foraging adventure of their own and have secured the ramps for the chef’s amazing ramp and potato soup. Come to the Bolivar Community center Tuesday, May 22 promptly at 6 p.m. so as not to miss a minute of Dorsey’s talk. As always, Joan Douglas’ Bernie’s Bread and Amish butter will accompany the soup and be available for sale along with other local products.

The SouperNatural Kitchen uses the money raised from the SouperTuesday dinners to buy fresh, local, whole food for families and individuals in the Bolivar community who need assistance.

Reserve seats today as only 30 tickets will be sold. Cost is $15 for class that starts at 6 and dinner at 6:45 p.m. at the Bolivar Community Center. Tickets are available via PayPal at www.facebook.com/soupernaturalkitchen. They are also available at Dish Restaurant in Charles Town, Grapes and Grains and Mellow Moods in Shepherdstown and Canal House and Harpers Ferry Chiropractic in Harpers Ferry.
