Obituary-Hunter

Margaret Geraldine Hunter, 87, of Summit Point, died Friday, May 25, 2012, at the Winchester (Va.) Medical Center.

Born Nov. 9, 1924, in Jefferson County, she was the daughter of the late Sallie V. Johnson. She was under the care of a nurturing staff at the Shenandoah Center in Charles Town.

Geraldine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was a member of Ebenezer Mt. Calvary Holy Church, where she was considered a mother of the congregation.

She is survived by three sons, Bishop Charles Hunter, Sr. and wife Alice of Summit Point, Vernon Hunter and wife Carol of Shepherdstown, and Dale Hunter and wife Kim of Martinsburg; two daughters, C. Carolyn Togans and husband Larry of Charles Town, and Evangelist Pamela Boomer and husband Lawrence of Shepherdstown; a sister, Phyllis Creamer and husband James of Charles Town; a brother-in-law, Robert Thomas of Shepherdstown; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Charles Robert Hunter; and sister, Frances Thomas.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 30, at Ebenezer Mt. Calvary Holy Church, Summit Point, with Bishop Charles Hunter, Sr. officiating. Interment was held at Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
