Obituary-Dodson

Doris Bell “Jenkins” Dodson, 70, of Shepherdstown, passed away Monday, June 25, 2012, at City Hospital.

Born Sept. 1, 1941, in Franklintown, she was the daughter of the late James A. and Ethel M. Jenkins.

She was of the Pentecostal faith, a homemaker, and will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by one son, Roy L. Dodson Jr. and wife, Barbara, of Kearneysville; one daughter, Patty Gibbs and husband, Jim, of Shepherdstown; one foster son, Lonnie Esswein; three brothers, Jimmy Jenkins, of Stephens City, Va., Sonny Jenkins, of Lost City, and Marvin Jenkins, of Summit Point; three sisters, Jean Gordon, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Audrey Graves, of Boyce, Va., and Ethel White, of Bunker Hill; four grandchildren, Heather Jenkins, Joshua Gibbs, Miranda Dodson and McKayla Dodson; two great-grandchildren, Maci Dunn and Trenton Jenkins; and two special friends, Betty Zigler and Pam Simpson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Roy Lee Dodson Sr.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 29, at Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home with the the Rev. Johnny Faircloth officiating. Interment was in the Middleway Masonic Cemetery.
