Shepherd professor receives NASA grant
Dr. Jeffrey R. Groff, assistant professor of physics in the Institute of Environmental and Physical Sciences, recently received an $8,152 grant from the NASA West Virginia Space Grant Consortium (WVSGC) for his project, “Physical Computing: An Introductory Course in Electronics and Microcontroller Programming.”
Groff said that the money will be used to purchase electronics equipment for the physics laboratory including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and digital/analog training boards.
A three-year member of the Shepherd faculty, Groff said that the WVSGC has been a very important source of support for his research and teaching at Shepherd.
