Fall dance classes for children and adults
Goose Route Arts Collaborative’s fall dance and movement classes for children and adults begin the first week of September. All classes take place at the Shepherdstown Train Station and are taught by Kitty Clark.
“Mini Movers,” for ages 3-5, meets Wednesdays, Sept. 5-Oct. 24 (Session I) and from Nov. 7-Dec. 19 (Session II), from 5-5:30 p.m. Boys and girls explore moving through space, become other creatures, and challenges themselves to try other things, all with a variety of music to stimulate imaginations. The cost is $42 for Session I if registered by Aug. 28; $50 if registered after Aug. 28. Session II is $31.50 if registered by Oct. 30; $37.50 if registered after Oct. 30.
“Meant to Move,” for ages 5-8, meets Wednesdays, Nov. 7-Dec. 19, from 4:15-5 p.m. This class for boys and girls introduces fundamental dance technique while encouraging kids to discover new ways of moving and to invent their own dances. The cost is $48 if registered by Oct. 30; $54 if registered after Oct. 30.
“Modern Dance Technique,” for adults and teens, meets Tuesdays, Sept. 4-Oct. 2, from 6-7:15 p.m. This class gets all movers, from beginning to experienced, stretching, strengthening, expressing themselves, and experiencing the joy of moving with others in this challenging but fun mixed-level class. The cost is $62.50 if registered by Aug. 28; $72.50 if registered after Aug. 28.
“Mindful Moving,” for adults and teens, meets Tuesdays, Nov. 6-Dec. 4, from 6-7:15 p.m. This class integrates yoga, dance, and movement improvisation into an expressive movement experience. The cost is $62.50 if registered by Oct. 30; $72.50 if registered after Oct. 30.
