Fall yoga program at Harmony Healing Arts Studio

Harmony Healing Arts Studio of Shepherdstown announces its Fall Yoga program schedule this week. The 12-week Fall Session begins Sept. 9, and will run through Dec. 8. Co-studio owner Terry Lindsay said, “We have new classes and two new teachers to help kick off our fall yoga program. We are excited about these new classes and teachers.”
New class offerings include “Lighten Up,” taught by Lucy Jenkins on Monday evenings from 7:158:15 p.m. Lucy will introduce yoga techniques to help alleviate some of the suffering and stress triggered by busy lifestyles and our often noisy, competitive culture. Lucy will also teach “Friday Flow,” a free-flowing gentle morning class, from 910 a.m. Beginners and intermediate students will stretch tight muscles, deepen breath awareness, and bring presence and clarity to their day.
Also new is Diana Brubaker’s “Peaceful Yoga” class, held on Saturday mornings from 9:1510:30 a.m. Diana’s class is for all levels, beginner or experienced. She hopes to cultivate peace and calm through flowing yoga postures, breath work, and body-mind awareness techniques.
Harmony’s program has something for everyone: young and old, the physically fit or those seeking physical fitness. Yoga can be gentle or vigorous and adapted to all body types. With 17 weekly yoga classes, Harmony has a class for everyone.
On Saturday, Sept. 22, from noon to 4 p.m., Harmony will have its first Open House event. This is a special opportunity for the public to come and learn all about Harmony’s offerings-yoga, massage, tai chi and many related healing arts. All Harmony practitioners will be on hand to describe and/or demonstrate what they do. Refreshments will be served and door prizes will be offered.
