Jala Yoga announces its September slate
Jala Yoga, the studio at Mellow Moods Cafe and Juice Bar, 117 West German Street, has announced its fall schedule and exciting September workshops. Among the new offerings are a Yoga for Runners series, Pilates and eight additional weekly classes. There is truly something for everyone looking for a yoga experience!
The Yoga for Runners series begins on Saturday, Sept. 8 and runs for five consecutive weeks. From 11-11:45 a.m., yoga instructor Siri McDonald will provide a yoga practice that will enhance a runner’s current skills with increased flexibility, better breath control and a focus on core strength. The cost for the series is $40 for all five classes or $12 drop-in rate.
Soozie Kinstler teaches a six-week Pilates Workshop on Mondays, Sept. 17-Oct. 22, 5:15-6:15 p.m. This Pilates mat class teaches students to move from their centers, build control in their movements and build strength and improve posture. The cost is $50 for all six weeks, $12 drop-in ($10 for students).
On Friday, Sept. 21, Soozie Kinstler will teach “Lighten Up for Arm Balances,” a workshop from 6-8 p.m. Kinstler will help yoga students find new ease in arm balances as well as introduce new variations of arm balances that will build confidence. The cost is $16; $12 for Jala class card holders; $10 for students.
New weekly classes on the regular schedule include early morning open practice on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays; a Wednesday morning flow class; a late afternoon flow class on Wednesdays; an early evening Ashtanga class on Tuesdays; and low-priced community classes on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. These classes all begin in September. The drop-in rate per class is $15; class cards are available in 5, 10 and 20 class amounts that bring the per class cost down to between $9-13 per class; reduced rates are available for students.
