The Shepherdstown Community Club’s Annual Community Labor Day picnic at Morgan’s Grove Park will begin at 2 p.m. on Sept. 3. Everyone is invited so spread the word. Arrive early and enjoy the park. Play frisbee or catch, tag football, juggle, walk hand-in-hand on the walking path with your significant other and sneak an occasional kiss, strum your guitar or, as Frank Zappa would say, play your bongos in the dirt.

While food is provided (hotdogs and hamburgers) at nominal cost, bringing a side dish to share is appreciated. As is the long-standing custom, the Rohrerville Band will entertain. Speakers will be County Commissioner Lyn Widemyer and Diane Melby of Shepherd University.
