Obituary–Green
Rudolph Walter Green, Sr., 83, of Shepherdstown, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, in Winchester (Va.) Medical Center.
Born March 7, 1929, in Blairton, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Beulah Jackson Green.
He attended Sumner-Ra- mer School in Martinsburg. He was of the Christian faith.
He retired from General Motors SPO in 1993, with 25 years of service.
In 1953, he married Nellie Virginia Stevenson. From this union, five children were born.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nellie V. (Stevenson) Green in 2004; a son, Rudolph W. Green, Jr. in 1991; a daughter, Anita Victoria Green in 1965; a sister, Edith Schley; and three brothers, Charles Green, Jr., James Green and Clifton Green.
He leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Linda Jackson and her husband, Garrick, of Shepherdstown, Paula Scott and her husband, Arthur, of Shepherdstown and Arlene Green, of Martinsburg; a sister, Dorothy Walker, of Martinsburg; a daughter-in-law, Delores Green Nelson, of Winchester, Va.; and eight grandchildren, Tamarra Green Lee, whom he raised, Malcolm Smith, Victor Hamilton, Shanta Green, Brian Jackson, Christopher Jackson, Timmy Grantham and Kevin Jackson.
He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, at Asbury United Methodist Church in Shepherdstown with the Rev. Rudolph Bropleh officiating. Interment followed in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
