The Animal Welfare Society is hosting the fourth annual Paws and Claws Dinner and Auction on Oct. 27 from 6-10 p.m. This Spooktacular event will be held at the Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races in the Skyline Ballroom. Dress for dinner or dress in costume, either will guarantee a great time. Last year’s event saw an amazing array of costumes (optional) with contest winners receiving gift certificates from various businesses in the area and lots of applause. The event will consist of a social hour, delicious dinner, silent and live auction, raffles and costume contest. Ticket cost is $40 per person. This event will help the Animal Welfare Society of Jefferson County continue its effort to help homeless and neglected pets and to find forever homes for all the wonderful cats and dogs that currently reside at the shelter on Leetown Pike.
