Ora Dixon named Woman of Distinction

By Staff | Oct 1, 2012

Ora Dixon is among the honorees for the Girl Scout Council of the Nation’s Capital 2012 Women of Distinction. Ora and the other two honorees Stacy Dugan and Leslie Crabill are positive role models for youth and young women of the community. The Women of Distinction experience is one that is to be cherished for a lifetime.

“This award is very special for me, I am pleased and humbled to share this life event representing Jefferson County”, says Ora. “It’s just as special to celebrate the Girl Scouts of the USA centennial this year. To be recognized for hard work, diligence and many community volunteer contributions is certainly an excellent way to rejoice. I am thankful, truly honored, and very grateful to be part of these special dynamics”, Ora said.

Ora’s husband (Clark Dixon, Jr.) says “I think that Ora is deserving of the Women of Distinction honor because of her innate ability to humble herself in such a manner that has allowed her to .. Succeed and be a light for others”. “I am so proud of her and pleased that I am able to see her accept this honor with pride,” Clark said.
