250 Speaker Series continues

The last two lectures of Historic Shepherdstown’s 250th Speakers Series will be presented at the Robert C. Byrd Center for Legislative Studies at Shepherd University. Both will begin at 7 p.m., with discussion and light refreshments to follow. The last lecture is sponsored by HSC along with the Jefferson County Historical Society and the Shepherdstown Community Club.

On Oct. 25, Dr. Kevin Williams, Shepherd University chair of the Department of Communications, will present “The Shepherdstown Train Station: An Oral History,” a film and discussion.

On Nov. 29, Shepherd Distinguished Professor Emeritus of History, Dr. John Stealey III will offer “Shepherdstown’s History in Regional and National Context.” Jefferson County Historical Society and Shepherdstown Community Club join Historic Shepherdstown Commission in sponsoring this event.

These presentations are being presented with financial assistance from the West Virginia Humanities Council, a state affiliate of the National Endowment for Humanities.
