ACFF introduces Producer’s Campus

The American Conservation Film Festival is excited in to invite filmmakers, students and anyone interested in the art of documentary filmmaking to the Producer’s Campus. This one-day series of workshops will be held on Saturday, Nov. 3 at the National Conservation Training Center in Shepherdstown in conjunction with ACFF’s 10th Anniversary Festival.

The Producer’s Campus will feature workshops and panel discussions on story development, the provocative use of imagery, “off-time” shooting and camerawork and strategies and insights for getting films in front of your audience.

Some of Producer’s Campus distinguished speakers include Alexandra Cousteau, filmmaker, National Geographic Emerging Explorer 2008 and founder of Blue Legacy; Phil Fairclough, executive vice president for development and production at Natural History New Zealand, executive producer of Oscar-nominated Encounters at the End of the World; Tilman Remme, award winning writer, producer and director, London-based Production Company Picture Films; and, Khris Baxter, principal at The Narrative and MFA Lecturer at Queens University of Charlotte.

Registration for professional film producers is $150. Student filmmakers receive a discounted price of $75. Included in the registration fee is the all day workshop, refreshments, lunch and a full festival pass. Space is limited so register early.
