By Staff | Oct 26, 2012

Friends of Music proudly announces that it is bringing the super-charged classical talent of the Georgia Guitar Quartet to the Frank Center stage on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012. The curtain goes up at 8 p.m.

Described as A dazzling display of technical prowess, versatile programming and audience rapport in a recent review by the Charleston Post and Courier, these four young men from the American South deliver a high-energy blend of breathtaking virtuosity and imaginative programming, in their adventurous approach to classical music. The GGQ draws inspiration from old and new, masters and icons, Bach and Brahms to Radiohead.

The Friends of Music is a (501c3) non-profit organization that supports and promotes musical excellence at Shepherd University and throughout the region.

In addition to GGQ, the FOM guest artists this season will include, The Lee Konitz New Quartet. After a recent sold-out run at New York’s Village Vanguard, The New York Times called this group sparkling and tantalizing.
