Shepherd’s Common Reading Program receives national attention

By Staff | Oct 26, 2012

The Common Reading Program, part of the First-Year Experience (FYEX) at Shepherd University, has been highlighted along with an article by Judi McIntyre, director of the FYEX at Shepherd, as a model for other universities in the October 2012 issue of E-Source. McIntyre’s article “Building a Fully Integrated University Common Reading Program” showcases the democratic and all-campus inclusive process by which the common reading is selected.

McIntyre’s article also discusses ways in which the program offers multiple opportunities to bring students, faculty, staff, and community members together through the written word. The article is available at u101tech.sa.sc.edu/NRC/esource/index.php.

Shepherd’s Common Reading Program is also featured on the podcast Student Success Network, which is available at soundcloud.com/grandviewgroup/student-success-network-3.
