Crystal Bowl Concerts from 6- 6:40 p.m. Ann Craig performs an extraordinary “sound meditation” using seven quartz crystal bowls that fill the Harmony studio with an energetic yet peaceful vibration that soothes and aligns mind, body and soul. Participants can sit in chairs or lie on mats. Donations gratefully accepted.

The Washington Street Artists’ Cooperative, the Bridge Gallery and the Shepherdstown Friday Painters will host an exhibit and art sale at the Bridge Gallery, 8566 Shepherdstown Pike, Shepherdstown beginning with a reception on from 5 7 p.m. and continuing through Sunday, Nov. 4 to honor the memory of Susan Ford Pritchard, who died this month after a hemorrhagic stroke. The public is invited to attend. Proceeds from the sale will go to the Pritchard family to help defray medical expenses.

St. John’s Lutheran Women are hosting the annual Soup and Sandwich Sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Luther Hall located at 101 West Martin Street in Martinsburg. Menu includes country ham, chicken salad, ham salad and pimento salad sandwiches, hot dogs, steamers, three kinds of soup and baked goods. Eat in or take out. Nov. 3

Attend the spaghetti dinner between 5 and 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall of Trinity Episcopal Church. You won’t want to miss this meal deal featuring unlimited spaghetti, salad, rolls and drinks for only $7.00 per adult, $3.00 kids age 3-11 and kids 2 & under are free. A baked goods table will provide sweet treats for a small donation. Additionally, a silent auction will be held featuring homemade crafts, gift baskets, gift certificates and more. Please come out and support Treasure Kids, a Christian Pre-school dedicated to meeting the needs of every family. A “Weight-loss & Healthy-living Club” is now forming and will have its first meeting beginning at 11 a.m., at Harmony. The club will meet every other Saturday thereafter. Organizer Teresa Holmes-Lindsey, of Full “Steem” Ahead Life Coaching & Mentoring, sees the club’s mission as “a journey to weight-loss and fitness.” Meetings will feature fitness and wellness workshops, guest speakers, exercise, healthy-recipe contests, cash pay-outs to the “biggest loser” and much more. Jefferson County Parks and Recreation will host the second annual Chili-Cookoff and Craft Fair at the community center at Sam Michael’s Park. “Meditations For Peace,” Piano Improvisations by Sam Jannotta will be held from 8-9 p.m. at the

Shepherdstown Presbyterian Church.

The Rotary Club of Charles Town will host their annual Christmas for Charities Dinner at the ballroom at Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races. Tickets are $40 per person with funds raised for a variety of local charities including the Jefferson County Community Ministries, the Eastern Panhandle Free Clinic and others. Contact any Rotary member for tickets. The evening also includes a live auction offering great vacations, sports packages and more as well as several games of Express Bingo with the chance to win prizes donated by local businesses and restaurants.

How We Got the Bible: the Formation, Transmission, and Translation of the Christian Bible” will be the topic addressed by Dr. Charles “Buz” Myers at a forum at the Shepherdstown Presbyterian Church, 100 W. Washington St, at 9 a.m. Myers is professor of Religious Studies at Gettysburg College and holds a Ph.D in New Testament language and literature from Princeton Theological Seminary. Williams Memorial United Methodist Church in Shenandoah Junction will honor all Veterans at a special service. A covered dish dinner will follow the 11 a.m. service.

Nov. 13

Nov. 17 & 18

The Valley Craft Network Studio Tour offers 12 artisans and crafts persons at 9 stops in nearby Boonsboro, Keedysville and Middletown who will open their studios filled with one of a kind, made in Maryland creations on from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the 31st Valley Craft Network Studio tour. Offerings include clothing and accessories, pottery, wood products, yarn, paintings and more. A Craft Fair & Family EXPO will be held from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Quality Hotel in Harpers Ferry. This great event offers many fabulous gifts for the holidays. St. James’ Lutheran Church of Uvilla, (4328 Shepherdstown Pike) invites the community to a dedication service on at 11 a.m. This special worship will celebrate the church’s newly renovated and expanded fellowship hall with the Honorable Bishop Ralph Dunkin presiding. A reception will follow in the new hall. Everyone is welcome to attend.
