The Washington Street Artists’ Cooperative, the Bridge Gallery and the Shepherdstown Friday Painters will host an exhibit and art sale at the Bridge Gallery, 8566 Shepherdstown Pike, Shepherdstown beginning with a reception on from 5 7 p.m. and continuing through Sunday, Nov. 4 to honor the memory of Susan Ford Pritchard, who died this month after a hemorrhagic stroke. The public is invited to attend. Proceeds from the sale will go to the Pritchard family to help defray medical expenses.

St. John’s Lutheran Women are hosting the annual Soup and Sandwich Sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Luther Hall located at 101 West Martin Street in Martinsburg. Attend the spaghetti dinner between 5 and 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall of Trinity Episcopal Church. A “Weight-loss & Healthy-living Club” is now forming and will have its first meeting beginning at 11 a.m., at Harmony. The club will meet every other Saturday thereafter. The Rotary Club of Charles Town will host their annual Christmas for Charities Dinner at the ballroom at Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races. Tickets are $40 per person with funds raised for a variety of local charities including the Jefferson County Community Ministries, the Eastern Panhandle Free Clinic and others. How We Got the Bible: the Formation, Transmission, and Translation of the Christian Bible” will be the topic addressed by Dr. Charles “Buz” Myers at a forum at the Shepherdstown Presbyterian Church, 100 W. Washington St, at 9 a.m. Myers is professor of Religious Studies at Gettysburg College and holds a Ph.D in New Testament language and literature from Princeton Theological Seminary.
