In the monthly business meeting of the Shepherdstown Fire Department, the officers for 2013 were elected. Here are the individuals that will lead the department throughout 2013. Congratulations to those who return as officers, and those who are newly elected.

President: Craig Simpson; vice president: George Anderson; treasurer: Denny Barron; assistant treasurer.: Jim Locke; secretary: Libby Nester; assistant. secretary: Dee Conner; trustee (five-year term): Jim Locke; Chaplain: Clarence Branson; attorney: Peter Chakmakian.

Also taking office are: Fire Chief Ross Morgan, Assistant Chief Craig Simpson, Captain Brain Fluharty. 1st Lieutenant Andy Tarbell. 2nd Lieutenant Zach Morgan and 3rd Lieutenant Daniel Henderson.

The Emergency Medical Services officers are: EMS Chief Leslie Simpson. Assistant Chief: Marshall DeMeritt, Lieutenant 3 Coy Beverage and Lieutenant 3-1 Nick Agnew. There is a vacant Captain position.

Delegates to Fire And Rescue Association are Pete Kelley and Jim Locke with alternates for the Fire and Rescue Association being Marshall DeMeritt, Zach Morgan, Andy Tarbell, Woody Garrett, Jim Schmitt and Daniel Henderson.

Honorary Fire Chief is Jessica Schmitt.
