Community members to be honored

By Staff | Dec 28, 2012

A celebration is planned for January 5, 2013, at the Shepherdstown Fire Hall to honor some of the town’s most distinguished community members. Please note that this luncheon and program is not in lieu of the one that was held by Jefferson High School to honor Coach Osbourn.

Osbourn will be a recipient of this well deserved honor, along with several other Jefferson and Berkeley community members, including Shepherdstown’s own Denny Barron.

Each honoree has touched so many of lives in so many ways and have dedicated their lives to building communities that all can be proud to call home. They serve as fine examples to our youth, who need assurance that they can be, do and have anything that they desire, and to understand that to do so, it takes serving others, giving back, paying it forward.

The program will include a luncheon, entertainment (including the school song by Shepherdstown Middle School cheerleaders), a former Jefferson County resident guest speaker and a post-event dessert social to meet with the honorees. Cost is $15.
