Obituary-Cardis
Thomas Daniel Cardis, 40 passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 9, 2012 after an accidental fall. He is survived by his parents, Tom and Sheila, brothers Michael, Daniel, William, his loving companion, Gwendolyn Gwen Kilroy, Michaels wife Elizabeth Knott Cardis and their daughter Drew Dempsey Knott Cardis.
He was born in Indianapolis, Ind., in 1972. He was four minutes older than his twin brother Michael. Thomas and his brothers were raised in Lewisburg, W.Va. He loved snowboarding, skateboarding and sports. Thomas graduated from Greenbrier East High School and he attended WV Tech. He was very skilled in mathematics and often told people that, his second language was Algebra.
Thomas lived in Shepherdstown for the last nine years, He was a skilled craftsman who loved woodworking. He specialized in custom made furniture. He was a juried artisan at Tamarack, W.Va. He loved his family home in Lewisburg and he spent numerous hours repairing and restoring the historic home. Thomas was a dedicated licensed contractor who loved his work. He had numerous friends in both Lewisburg and Shepherdstown. He was a loving and caring person who always was available to help his friends and family.
A public memorial was held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17 at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Ronceverte, W.Va.
