Book signing scheduled for student’s novel
A book signing has been scheduled for A Veil of Shattered Dreams, the debut novel of Shepherd University student Rachel Stark. The signing will be Saturday, Jan. 19, from 1 4 p.m. at Beasley’s Books and Eccentricities 307 W. Washington St. in Charles Town, where the novel was developed and edited.
Stark is a senior at Shepherd University pursuing a degree in Communications and New Media and a native of Petersburg, W. Va. From the first time she won a writing contest in the second grade, she has continued to write. She is an avid reader and loves to write prose as well as poetry. A Veil of Shattered Dreams is her first novel, but probably not her last now that the author bug has bitten.
Already receiving rave reviews on Amazon.com, A Veil of Shattered Dreams is an intense psychological journey from beginning to end. Described by readers as “an absolutely wonderful literary experience” and “impossible to put down,” A Veil of Shattered Dreams is the story of Katerina struggling to piece together the lost fragments of truth and reality of the dark past that she has forced herself to forget.
The cover of A Veil of Shattered Dreams is a collaborative effort by Stark and two additional Shepherd students, Ccommunications major Caitlyn See and Photography major Danielle Gesford. Gesford photographed and co-designed the cover and See posed as the cover’s model. Both See and Gesford will be present to sign books alongside Stark.
A Veil of Shattered Dreams is available on Amazon’s Kindle and Barnes and Noble’s Nook. Paperback copies of A Veil of Shattered Dreams will be available for purchase at the book signing.
