Obituary – Branson
Norma Elizabeth Branson, 71, of Shepherdstown, went to be with the Lord Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at City Hospital.
Born April 8, 1941, in Jefferson County, she was the daughter of the late Norman Joseph McDonald and Cora (Hughes) McDonald.
Mrs. Branson retired from Corning Glass Works after 38 years of service.
She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Shepherdstown.
She is survived by one son, Charles Robert Branson Jr., of Martinsburg and special friend, Stephanie; two daughters, Robin Hosby and husband, Raymond E. Sr., and Cora Branson, all of Shepherdstown and special friend, Larry; three grandchildren, Markita Hosby, Raymond E. Hosby Jr. and Mariah Leonard; six brothers, Leslie, Charles, William and Nelson McDonald, all of New Kensington, Pa., and Stanley and Richard McDonald, both of Martinsburg; four sisters, Gloria Guy, Barbara Branson and Carol Hunter, all of Shepherdstown, and Cora Houser, of New Kensington, Md.; goddaughter, Marsha Thomas, of Martinsburg; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Branson Sr.; one brother, Norman McDonald; and one sister, Helen Houser.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Asbury United Methodist Church in Shepherdstown with Pastor Rudolph M. Bropleh officiating. Interment will be held at Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church, prior to the service.
