Nature photography workshop set
A nature photography workshop focusing on landscape images and how to find them will be presented by renowned photographers Joseph Rossbach and Ian Plant on Saturday, March 2, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the National Conservation Training Center in Shepherdstown. Pre-registration is required at tinyurl.com/PVNP-workshop. The fee for the workshop is $125. Lunch is not included.
Joseph Rossbach has been photographing the landscape for over 15 years. Joe’s photographs and articles have appeared in a number of books, calendars and magazines, including Outdoor Photographer, The Nature Conservancy, Digital Photo, Photo Techniques, Popular Photography, Blue Ridge Country, Mountain Connections and many more. Rossbach is also a staff course instructor for Nature Photographers Magazine and writes a regular blog column for Outdoor Photographer Magazine’s online edition. He is also a co-author and contributing photographer of two books: The Ultimate Guide to Digital Nature Photography (Mountain Trail Press) and Fifty Amazing Things You Must See and Do in the Greater D.C. Area: The Ultimate Adventure Guide.” Rossbach continues to travel extensively, producing new and exciting images of the natural world as well as conducting photography workshops and photo tours.
Ian Plant, a full-time professional nature photographer, writer, and adventurer, has been photographing our natural world for almost twenty years. Plant travels the world to find rare convergences of light, composition, mood and moment, looking to transcend mere scenery to produce a compelling view of his nature subjects. His photographs and instructional articles have appeared in a number of books, calendars and magazines, including Outdoor Photographer, Popular Photography, Le Monde de la Photo, Nature Photographers Online Magazine, National Parks, Common Ground, Blue Ridge Country, Adirondack Life, Wonderful West Virginia and Chesapeake Life, among others. He also writes a regular blog column for Outdoor Photographer online. Plant has sold images to a wide range of corporate and environmental clients, including Apple, National Geographic Society, REI, Southern Environmental Law Center, National Parks Conservation Association, Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Humane Society and Tamron.
Plant is the photographer/author of eight print books, including Chesapeake: Bay of Light (2007), which received critical acclaim from the Washington Post, Washington Times and Baltimore Sun, among others. Ian is also one of the lead authors and designer of The Ultimate Guide to Digital Nature Photography (2009). Most recently, he has authored a number of nature photography instructional eBooks including Chasing the Light (2010), and several books in the Behind the Lens and Five Landscape Challenges series. Plant is also the author of a number of digital processing tutorials.
