Parks and Rec offers indoor playground
Jefferson County Parks and Rec is offering a series of programs and events for local youth.
The County will host an indoor playground for children ages 1 to 5 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and from 1 to 3:30 p.m. every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, through April 26 at the community center. Adults are responsible for supervising the children they bring. Cost is $5 for the first child and $3 per additional sibling. Price is per visit. Jefferson County Parks and Rec will also host a toddler learning program. Introduce your toddler to the basics of the alphabet, numbers, colors, and shapes through various crafts, stories and other activities. You may choose from a one-day or two-day program. Classes are held at the Jefferson County Community Center. This is an ongoing program for your child to enjoy a class curriculum that provides a new learning experience every day each month. Parks and Recreation will host a Father/Daughter Valentine Dance from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Feb. 8 at the community center. There will be Valentine decorations, cookies, wholesome music, little girls dressed up, fathers giving flowers, and daughters learning how a gentleman treats a young lady. And finally, the Jefferson County Parks and Recreation is offering Zumba class from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursdays. Drop-in fee is $4.
