Entrepreneurs’ Cafe returns March 18
The next meeting of the Entrepreneurs’ Cafe will take place on Monday, March 18, from 6-8 p.m., at the Black Dog Coffee, 8001 Charles Town Rd., Shenandoah Junction (Bardane exit from Rt. 9/340). During the event five local entrepreneurs will each give a short presentation, to “pitch” their idea or project for funding. Attendance at the Entrepreneurs’ Cafe is open to all members of the community in the Eastern Panhandle area of W. Va. The Cafe is an opportunity for the community to learn about new businesses starting in the area, and actually take part in investing in their success by voting for the cash award.
More than 60 people attended the January Entrepreneurs’ Cafe, which was held in conjunction with the Eastern Panhandle Entrepreneurs Forum, at the Purple Iris in Martinsburg. The winning entrepreneur was The Local Source, a Shepherdstown business that is a retail outlet for local crafters and artists, as well as fair-trade and eco-friendly goods.
At each Entrepreneurs’ Cafe, attendees pay $10 for a simple meal and the opportunity to hear small business development ideas and vote on their favorite project. The winning entrepreneur receives the proceeds from the purchase of meals and a special cash award provided by the sponsor. Limited sponsorship opportunities are available for 2013, by contacting David Rosen at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Entrepreneurs’ Cafe program is part of a long-term plan to develop the entrepreneurial climate in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. For more information or to download an application to be a presenter, visit www.facebook.com/EntreprenuersCafeShepherdstownEasternPanhandle.
