Doris M. Blackford, 82, of Charles Town, passed away Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital..

Born May 18, 1930 in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Georgie Shields.

Mrs. Blackford was a loving homemaker.

She was a member of Covenant Baptist Church, Shepherdstown, and used to be an avid bowler.

She is survived by her husband, of 63 years, John M. Blackford, Sr., at home; daughter, Barbara Blackford Amlin and husband Gregory of Harpers Ferry; son, John M. Blackford, Jr. and wife Pamela of Kearneysville; five granddaughters; great-granddaughter and also many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Crawford officiating.

Burial followed at Elmwood Cemetery, Shepherdstown.
