Hale commissioned

On Feb. 15, at Maxwell AFB, AL, Shepherdstown resident Donald Bret Hale, Jr, was commissioned as a 2Lt in the United States Air Force. Lt Hale completed the 12-week extensive Basic Officer Training School. He was a member of the graduates of Class 13-03 and “overall top” squadron.
Attending the Commissioning Ceremony was his wife Chi and daughter Gemma, his parents Bret and Laura Hale, and his grandparents Donald and Dorrene Hale. They all participated in the “pinning” ceremony with his grandfather Donald giving him his first salute.
Lt Hale is a graduate of Jefferson High School and Shepherd University. Before entering the service, he was a teacher at Washington High School.
Lt Hale and his family are now stationed at Eglin AFB, FL. He is assigned to the 28th Test Squadron as an Operations Analyst.
