Rotary Club donates $500

By Staff | Mar 22, 2013

The Shepherdstown Rotary Club has donated $500 to the Shepherdstown Public Library.

The funds will be used to help purchase a new set of children’s books that provide information about different nations around the world.

The Club presented a check to the Library’s director, Hali Taylor, at the Club’s March 5 weekly breakfast meeting at the Bavarian Inn in Shepherdstown.

Smith noted that promoting children’s reading has always been a priority for the Club, and the Club has frequently aided the Library with special purchases of this kind.

Taylor said the books that will be purchased will be a welcome addition to the Library’s children’s collections. She said they are “beautifully illustrated and full of facts and interesting descriptions of the people, geography and history of each country.”
