Shepherdstown Community Good Friday service
A Good Friday traditional three-hour service on “The Seven Last Words of Christ” will be offered by the Shepherdstown Ministerial Association Friday, March 29 from 12 noon until 3 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church, 100 W. Washington St, Shepherdstown.
Speakers from various congregations will offer reflections on a “word.” Each of the seven segments includes a period of silence, a musical interlude and a prayer (“The Solemn Reproaches of the Cross”). Each of the segments is about 25 minutes long. Participants are welcome to come and go as necessary. Offering plates will be available at the entrance for contributions to the Jefferson County Community Ministries.
The speakers in order are: Ron Grubb (Christ Church, UCC), Ginger Medley (Asbury United Methodist), Fred Soltow (St. Peter’s Lutheran), John Case (Quaker Meeting), G. T. Schramm (Trinity Episcopal), Dee Ann Dixon (New St. United Methodist) and Mat Rowgh (St. Agnes). Randall Tremba (Presbyterian) will serve as officiate and liturgist.
