Shepherd University’s chapter of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society will be hosting the lecture “Einstein’s Jewish Science: Physics at the Intersection of Politics and Religion” by Dr. Steve Gimbel, the Edwin T. and Cynthia Shearer Johnson Chair for Distinguished Teaching the Humanities at Gettysburg College and chair of the department of philosophy, on Wednesday, April 3 at 4:30 p.m. at the Frank Center Theater.

Gimbel holds a Ph.D from Johns Hopkins University and his primary scholarly interests are in the foundations and ramifications of relativity theory and in scientific methodology and the notion of scientific evidence. He has published five books and 30 scholarly and popular articles and reviews on topics ranging from the environmental ethic of the American Nazi party to the geometry of M.C. Escher’s works, from questions of sportsmanship in the Kasparov/Deep Blue chess match to the notion of moral doubt on the Colbert Report.
