G. David Singer, 74, of Shepherdstown, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Canterbury Center..
Born Dec. 27, 1938 in Carbondale, Pa., he was the son of the late George Wallace Singer and Rachel Esther Hazelton Singer.
Dave was a physicist who regularly followed new developments. He was an amateur video photographer and produced the Shepherdstown visitors promotional video. Dave was always asked to cover historical and traditional Shepherdstown events. He was also an avid outdoorsman, having grown up in the Catskill Mountains of New York, and was locally referred to as “the video man.” He was very committed to help and support the Shepherdstown Public Library.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carrie Singer, at home; two sons, Mark Singer of North Carolina and Glen Singer of Burke, Va.; one stepson, David Williams of Montreal, Canada; one sister, Rosie Hamilton and husband, Phil of Portland, Ore. and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothea “Dolly” Denman.
Memorial services were be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at the Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, with Pastor Dan Oravec officiating.
