Genealogy seminar and workshop May 18
The General Adam Stephen Chapter, NSSAR and the Pack Horse Ford Chapter, NSDAR, announce that an open genealogy seminar and workshop will be held on Saturday, May 18, 10 a.m., at the Entler Hotel.
The event will be presented by Robert Fish of Parkersburg, W.Va., who is widely recognized as an expert genealogist. He is currently the Registrar of the WV State Society and Past President of the Society. He is a member of the NSSAR National Genealogy Committee. He will discuss the role of lineage societies such as the SAR or DAR in honoring our country’s history and heroes and in preserving each family’s individual lineage history.
The seminar will discuss how to get started, how to record work and how to make sure results are correct.
Following the seminar a team of volunteer genealogist from the SAR and DAR will be available to meet with anyone who is interested in discussing their own lineage research with a goal of becoming a member of the SAR or DAR.
The seminar is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. Parking is available one block behind the hotel in the Shepherd University parking lot.
