Corum honored by Franklin American

Franklin American Mortgage Company proudly announces that Peter S. Corum has been named the recipient of the FAMC Loan Officer of the Year award for 2012. This award is given to the loan originator that best exemplifies FAMC’s mission of providing opportunities for families and individuals to achieve the dream of home ownership. In addition to winning this prestigious award, Corum is also a member of FAMC’s exclusive Chairman’s Club which is presented to top-producing loan originators.
Corum, of Shepherdstown, wears many hats: Area manager for FAMC, co-founder of The Crofts residential development, founder of Morgan’s Grove Market, proponent of a local foods movement and devoted family man and father of two.
“I believe the the health of a family and community starts at home, both environmentally and financially. You cannot have happiness without good health, which starts with good food,” Corum said.
Corum merges two of his interests, good health and finances, at events like this year’s Eastern Panhandle Home Show, where his team gave away over 1,000 Mortgage Lifter tomato seedlings.
“This West Virginia heirloom tomato provides a powerful example of household savings and health by spending 2.5 cents buying and planting a seed, you get exercise, fresh air, good food and $20-$30 in savings. It’s a simple business model we are promoting throughout the state,” Corum said.
Franklin American Mortgage is also contributing by sponsoring a Mortgage Lifter tomato plat at this year’s Sustainable Shepherdstown’s Community Garden.
