JCCVB announces grant winners
The Jefferson County Convention & Visitors Bureau (JCCVB) has awarded its first round of Community Grants to three county organizations for their events. Meredith Wait, a JCCVB board member and chair of the Community Outreach Committee, presented checks to Deb Tucker, Tom Huddleston and representatives of the Over The Mountain Studio Tour.
Tucker, owner of Bistro 112 and chair of the BEST Committee, a partnership between the Shepherdstown Visitor’s Center and the Shepherdstown Business Association, accepted a check for $1,000 for the Garden Fest, held in Shepherdstown two weekends ago. Huddleston, President of the Community Club, accepted a check on behalf of the Back Alley Garden Tour, also held in Shepherdstown two weekends ago. In a tremendous show of support for the grant they received, 19 members of the Over The Mountain Studio Tour together accepted their award.
The JCCVB will award Community Grants monthly through December 2013 to organizations in Jefferson County that want to promote the county through promotional materials, advertising and other marketing initiatives. Details on the program are available online at www.discoveritallwv.com, by sending an email request to firstname.lastname@example.org or calling the CVB at 304-535-2627. The application deadline for the next round of grant awards is June 1, 2013.
