Local attorney, Christopher P. Stroech, Esq., recently received the Protector of the Potomac award from Potomac Riverkeeper, Inc., a non-profit organization charged with preventing pollution and restoring clean water in the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers and their tributaries.

Stroech was recognized for his pro bono legal work on several issues in West Virginia, including the establishment of minimum release requirements for concentrated animal feeding operations in West Virginia and the controlled construction of a proposed shale quarry in Gerrardstown, along with ensuring that local entities comply with the release provisions of the Clean Water Act. He has enabled the organization to move forward on these and other issues in West Virginia.

Stroech is an attorney with Arnold & Bailey, PLLC, that maintains offices in Charles Town and Shepherdstown.
