“Radar” art exhibit at Devonshire Arms

By Staff | May 31, 2013

The Devonshire Arms Cafe and Pub in Shepherdstown is continuing its series of art exhibits in support of our local art community. For the remainder of May and through June prints of nature paintings by Gary Burghoff, better known for his role as “Radar” in the Korean War MASH television series will be featured. Burghoff was a friend of Shepherdstown area resident, Bonnie Austin’s father and fellow church-goer in Paradise, Calif. When asked how she acquired them, Austin laughed and said that the Burghoff prints are a substantial portion of her inheritance.

The monthly exhibits at the popular cafe are widely varied and include photos and drawings as well as paintings, usually by Eastern Panhandle artists and members of local art organizations. The proprietor, Carolyn Robel-Litwack, an artist herself, actively seeks and encourages talented members of the community to display their work.

The Devonshire Arms is located at 107 South Princess Street in Shepherdstown.
