Stop the Kaboom benefit music & arts festival

By Staff | Jun 7, 2013

Join in the weekend of June 13-16 for the third annual Stop The Kaboom Festival as organizers merge music, art and community action to raise awareness about mountaintop removal and hydraulic fracturing. All proceeds from this event will support two West Virginia based organizations which are actively working to stop the devastating effects of resource extraction of gas and coal; the RAMPS Campaign against surface mining for coal and Morgan County Frack Ban.

The weekend event will be family friendly and filled with 30 bands – jam, rock, reggae and bluegrass. There will be live performance art, local art and food vendors, kids’ art space and guest speakers on mountaintop removal and hydraulic fracturing.

Throughout the weekend there will be building coalitions between community members working on natural gas and coal issues, also providing information on how folks can be involved in these struggles to keep West Virginia Wild and Wonderful.

Tickets are available online at www.stopthekaboom.com – $40 pre-sale, $50 at the gate for the weekend – Camping from Thursday through Sunday included. Friday, Saturday, Sunday Day Passes are $20 per day.
